Tangram has completed a new furniture design installation for Califia Farms headquartered in Los Angeles, CA. Tangram and Studio Other collaborated closely with the architecture firm, SLAM for this project. Alexis Dennis-Huether, Associate Principal at SLAM spearheaded this project to completion. Califia Farms produces innovative, healthy, and great-tasting plant-based alternatives to dairy.
The 2022 project encompassed 30,000 square feet of office space for their 50 plus in-office employees. This new installation was designed to help Califia Farms best enhance their new private ancillary spaces and have diverse areas throughout the office for people to collaborate, socialize, and have both large and small meetings while still celebrating and reflecting their core values.
Elements chosen for Califia Farms:
Boardroom: Studio Other produced a custom conference boardroom table finished with a butcher block surface, showcasing the natural beauty inherent in the material. This echoes Califia Farm’s ethos and is large enough to accommodate 20 employees. The steel base resembles machinery found in coffee bean fields and pays homage to Califia Farms’ respective industry. Coalesse seating was used to bring together the meeting space.
AV Credenza: Studio Other worked hand-in-hand with architect Alexis Denison from SLAM on the project, to create a custom credenza that blended seamlessly with the planned millwork and ancillary furniture. The credenza sits underneath the boardroom monitor and stores all needed equipment.
Flip Top Cafe Tables: Studio Other developed 9 flip top tables with material finished to mimic the same style flow throughout the cafe and public gathering space. The tables are finished with a new age oak laminate for durability and longevity. The tables are nestled between the boardroom and are able to move easily for hosted events or larger meetings.
Workstations - Tangram selected Steelcase task chairs with Migration SE benching and extended height, Revi Pedestal Drawer-Files for 7 workstations with 4 desks available on each. Surface color selected was neutral browns and tans throughout the workstations. Migration SE Rectangular STD/Edge with extended height were placed to perfectly maximize corner work spaces.
Private Offices: 7 smaller offices were built out with Migration SE Tables, EE Floating Shelf Modesty Panels, Currency Enhanced Cabinets and CF Task Lights were implemented. Currency Slim Leg Height Adjustable Desk and Andreu World desk chairs equipped with upholstered seating were selected. GlassPro was installed inside the private offices for reliable, writing surfaces ideal for notetaking in a collaborative meeting setting.
Reception Area: Furniture chosen highlights the company’s earthy tones while incorporating a mix of bright colors - the OFS Side Table and Mooi Steelecase blue lounge chair with a high back along with a Blu Dot Tomato Velvet Lounge Chair. Nevins counter-height table placed in various spaces throughout the open office/plaza areas for a collaboration spot, quick break or solo work space.
Tangram and Studio Other facilitated Califia Farms’ desire to complete their new office space and provide solutions for their growing company, giving each space adjustable desks, ample storage and workspace flexibility. Tangram was selected for this project, giving Califia Farms a full hands-on process from planning, restructuring, ordering and design, all the way through to installation. Tangram and Studio Other were able to provide Califia Farms with a space maximizing productivity, minimizing disruption and offering flexible meeting spaces throughout.
