KFI Studios is presenting three new products at NeoCon, expanding their line of design-driven products. The new product offerings include a chaise lounge with accessories, an ergonomic and sustainable task chair, and a comprehensive outdoor furniture collection. Avalon
Work meets lounge with the Avalon chaise. Designed by Union Design, the sculpted forms of the chaise allow your body to be fully reclined for lounging while keeping your head in an actively engaged position. Avalon becomes your private space where you can focus on getting work done or simply relax in between meetings.
The split forms of the seat and back are designed from the need for the product to break down into as small a box as possible. This creates an interesting look of two bent planes of upholstery coming together in a floating connection, creating the feeling of lightness. Further emphasizing this sense of lightness is the soft 3D knit upholstery combined with the thin metal frame structure. The Avalon chaise can be used on its own or paired with accessories to enhance the work/lounge experience. Easily clamped on to the chaise, you can choose to add a swivel table and/or privacy screen with coat hook and side table. The swivel table features a device stand perfect for working on phones or tablets. The privacy screen, covered in 3D knit upholstery, creates a personal workspace furnished with a coat hook and side table, perfect for storing your bag or holding that important cup of coffee while you work.
Jade
Jade, designed by Union Design, brings new aesthetics, ergonomics, and sustainability to the mainstay task chair. The gentle, elegant forms of the Jade chair along with its minimal impact on the environment make Jade a refreshing option for any commercial or residential interior.
The ergonomically designed task chair provides all day comfort without sacrificing beauty. For effortless comfort, the weight-sensitive mechanism automatically adjusts to the user’s body. Seat cushions are rounded down to alleviate pressure on back of legs. The height-adjustment and tilt lock controls are discreetly integrated into the front corners of the seat, eliminating the need for unsightly levers and knobs.
Sustainability speaking, Jade was designed to eliminate the use of virgin plastic. PET felt, made from recycled plastic, is used for both the back cover and seat bottom with the option to use it for the arm pads as well. With several colors to choose from, the soft feel of the PET felt elevate the design beyond what any plastic parts could accomplish, all while being highly durable and cleanable. To help reduce textile waste, Jade is upholstered in 3D shape knit which is available in a variety of colors to customize the chair even further. Other sustainable materials include recyclable steel frame, FSC certified wood structure, and eco-friendly foam; all that can be easily disassembled for recycling.
Juna Outdoor Collection
The Juna collection, designed by Union Design, is a modern and fun take on outdoor furniture to get you outside in the fresh air, whether for work or leisure. Built to withstand the elements, the comprehensive outdoor collection has tables, seating, partitions, planters, picnic tables/desks, and accessories to customize your outdoor space to fit your needs.
Designed to be laidback and easygoing, Juna’s aesthetic is based on the repetition of circles and racetrack shapes paired with similar construction details to visually connect all the pieces as a uniform collection. The simple soft shapes used throughout the collection are wrapped in a satin finish for a playful, minimal aesthetic.
Alongside the essential tables and seating, you’ll find inventive pieces like the single and double picnic tables and the love bench built for two. These unique pieces allow you to grab a quick bite to eat or grab your laptop and work in the sunshine. Additional options include perforated screens and planters to create the perfect private outdoor area. Planters can also turn into spots to mingle with the addition of cocktail tables to hold your drink. In addition to being displayed in the KFI Studios showroom, Juna will be shown at the Kinzie-Wells outdoor space for people to relax and enjoy.
