Microsoft just released its second annual Work Trend Index, and the implication is clear: Employees returning to the office have dramatically different priorities, expectations, and needs than they did at the start of the pandemic. Surveying some 30,000 workers in 31 countries, the Microsoft report finds that employees are increasingly putting their well-being over work and have come to value remote flexibility—a development that could put them at odds with business leaders, 50% of whom said in the survey they plan to bring employees back into the office full time.
