Pearson Lloyd, in collaboration with Cozmo, has unveiled a modular sofa named "Hug" during the London Design Festival. Designed to provide a feeling of warmth and comfort, the sofa features a high back for additional support and is constructed from a precision-welded steel frame that allows for flat-pack delivery without the need for tools. The sofa’s comfort comes from layers of foam and feather-filled cushions, which are encased in removable textile covers. The design aims to promote easy repair and revitalization at the end of its life cycle. The team's innovative approach included creating scale models to explore how the foam behaves and to ensure the sofa delivers the right posture for users. The exhibition also emphasizes tactile design, showcasing the importance of comfort in furniture choice.
