Integra Seating has officially launched Odyssey, a brand-new family of seating and tables. Designed with a sleek, contemporary metal frame and a beautifully curved form, Odyssey is the culmination of a quest to rethink what a guest chair can be.
The design journey began with the goal of creating truly distinctive guest seating that elevates a space while offering the exceptional strength and durability for which Integra is known. Starting with the wrap-around design, the organic, continuous curved shape serves both aesthetic and functional purposes. The sleek form capped with solid surface in a plethora of color options creates visual elegance and an integrated handle for unmatched function and cleanability. The curve of the back is carefully sculpted to provide optimal lumbar support with a striking silhouette.
Odyssey was meticulously engineered with Integra’s DNA blueprint of comfortable seating with component-based construction and a 1200 lb. static capacity. Yet even with that superior strength, the minimalist aesthetic of the slim profile and tapered legs gives it a light, airy appearance that doesn’t overwhelm a space.
Chairs are available both with arms and armless in seat widths of 19.5” and 23.5”. The wall-saver design and integrated handle make them perfect for high-use, easy-to-move seating in study areas, meeting rooms, cafés, reception areas, exam rooms, and many more spaces. A 29.5” seat width is available to comfortably and safely accommodate persons of size. In addition, an Ortho/Hip chair with a 24” high seat is offered with a 23.5” seat width for easy accessibility and a foot rest for user comfort and stability. A solid surface tablet option is available on any of the seating with arms. Integra’s tablets all have an impressive 300 lb. capacity.
Sustainability always plays a significant role in the product’s development as environmental factors are central to Integra’s design ethos. “We’ve always focused on creating products that are designed to last decades and outperform other seating products with superior strength and replaceable and recoverable components, and this chair is no different,” noted Chandra Putnam, Integra’s president. “It's another superb example in our 40+ year journey of designing sustainable products and reducing waste as priorities.”
Integra’s sustainability commitment is reiterated by the achievement of the entire Odyssey Collection having the BIFMA Level 1 Certification, Level Credit 7.4.4 (target chemical elimination, formerly HHI-compliant), and Clean-air Gold Certification.
The Integra team also focused on cleanability with the chair’s seat strategically created for quick all-sides cleaning, or recovering whenever that might be necessary. “One of the key drivers was ensuring that every surface was accessible for cleaning,” Putnam added. “We ensured that all sides of the seat could be easily wiped clean and that the solid surface caps all the way around the chair including the integrated handle in the back, could be easily wiped clean as well—perfect for environments where cleanability is critical.”
Integra’s DNA blueprint is evident in every detail of Odyssey, from its strength, component-based construction, and cleanability, to the thoughtful material choices and sophisticated aesthetics. The chair’s design doesn’t just stand out visually—it supports the user and provides a perfect blend of functionality, comfort, and aesthetic appeal.
Odyssey's light, contemporary aesthetic makes It a perfect fit for a wide range of environments, including office and lobby areas, registration, consultation and waiting areas, and café and educational spaces.
