Prioritizing Indoor Air Quality with Hempitecture’s Bio-Based FiberPad

Hempitecture’s newly launched FiberPad is a 1:1 replacement for toxic carpet underlays. Unlike carpet padding made from petroleum-based urethane, synthetic latex or questionable post-consumer content, FiberPad is made from an engineered blend of decorticated hemp and functional fibers. This combination leads to a rebound that deadens sound, improves thermal comfort, minimizes flooring energy loss, and contributes to a long-term plush carpet feel. Hemp fiber is a natural bast fiber from the industrial hemp crop that is durable and moisture wicking. During its growth, the hemp plant captures carbon dioxide, storing it in the soil and in the plant mass itself. Due to industrial hemp’s carbon sequestering capabilities, FiberPad has a minimal carbon footprint, so it isn’t just a healthier interior product choice, it’s a more sustainable option as well. FiberPad is treated with bio-based fire retardants that are Red List ingredient free and tested in accordance with International Building Code Standards.
