Tom Dixon’s art deco-inspired outdoor collection arrives just in time for spring

Tom Dixon has launched his first comprehensive outdoor furniture collection called Groove, designed to meet the increasing demand for outdoor living spaces. The collection includes dining chairs, stools, and tables made from durable aluminium, featuring an elegant silhouette and a soft color palette with textural details. The shift towards outdoor living, accelerated by the pandemic, prompted this venture, as Dixon's interior design division increasingly specified outdoor furniture. Previously, Dixon had explored outdoor furniture design but faced challenges with comfort and aesthetics. Groove reflects lessons learned from past experiments, consolidating features that enhance both comfort and stability. The design draws inspiration from Hydro, an earlier experimental chair made from low-carbon aluminium, which highlighted structural integrity through its corrugated design. The Groove collection is adaptable and can expand with new pieces in response to demand, and it is available in soft shades like Moss and Putty. Additionally, the team has developed chargeable mobile lighting options that complement the furniture, emphasizing the blend of functionality and style in outdoor settings.
