In honor of Plastic Free July, Arper celebrates their wide range of sustainably designed products. In an era where companies often announce lofty sustainability goals without tangible action, Arper stands apart as one of the few in the industry who 'walk the walk', setting an exemplary standard for genuine sustainable changes. Arper is committed to rethinking the built environment to adapt to and prepare for a changing world by providing design solutions that enhance human wellness, performance, collaboration, and experience.
Arper’s Mixu chair was designed with sustainability at its core. The seat is made from post-industrial recycled polypropylene, which means that it can be both recycled and reused. The chair’s backrest is made of fully recyclable, high-performance virgin polypropylene, reinforced with fiberglass. Mixu’s base is composed of 70 percent recycled steel, with gliders entirely made of recycled plastic. This composition ensures durability, sustainability, and adaptability, with Mixu offering a range of materials and design options. Notably, Mixu embodies lifecycle mindfulness, being designed for easy disassembly to minimize its carbon footprint and facilitate disposal at the end of its lifecycle. Arper challenges the rest of the industry to put in the hard work and financial commitments to make a transformative impact on the Earth.
