JSI has recently been awarded a design patent for its innovative Trans4rm™ system, a key feature of the Kindera recliner designed to enhance patient transfers, especially for larger individuals requiring lift systems. The Kindera recliner aims to match the advanced technology found in modern hospitals, prioritizing patient comfort and caregiver efficiency. The Trans4rm™ system allows the recliner's arms to retract into the frame, providing a stable platform for transfers without additional components, which facilitates natural interaction between caregivers and patients. This design not only reduces stress for patients but also minimizes the risk of injury for caregivers. Recognized with a 2024 Nightingale Award, Kindera incorporates intuitive controls, optional integrated heat and power, and durable, cleanable surfaces. The recliner was developed in collaboration with healthcare designer Mike Shields, emphasizing connection and care quality. This patent adds to JSI's long history of innovation in the healthcare industry.
