Cassina and Kiton are not sitting around when it comes to creating comfort (writes Valentina Venelli). The two Italian companies have joined forces to launch a limited edition of the 3 Fauteuil Grand Confort armchair. Designed in 1928 by Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Jeanneret, the renowned piece is an icon of modernist design.
The revived model is upholstered in blue and burgundy cashmere and sits on a low glossy frame, a nod to Le Corbusier’s keen sense of colour and its impact on how we perceive space. Cassina chose Neapolitan sartorial expert Kiton for its luxurious textiles, which are sourced from Mongolia and milled in Biella. The fabric is soft to the touch yet incredibly durable. The chair is limited to just 120 pieces.
