Thoughtfully designed for effortless set-up and storage, the Stash wood folding chair by Arcadia combines streamlined function with refined aesthetics. Effortless to unfold and even easier to store, Stash is ready whenever and wherever it’s needed—whether tucked away on a wall, nested together, or stowed in large quantities on a dolly.
Beyond everyday utility, Stash stands out for its elevated design. A solid beech wood frame, engineered for strength and longevity, is paired with molded wood seats and backs contoured for ergonomic support—ensuring seated comfort for long or short durations alike. Accommodating up to 400 lbs., it offers a well-considered balance of resilience and refinement.
Designed by David Ritch and Mark Saffell of 5D Studio, Stash marks a first for Arcadia. While folding chairs had not previously been a focus, market research revealed a strong demand for upscale, space-efficient seating—particularly in healthcare consultation and exam rooms. “Although not previously in our sights, once we saw the study and concept, the decision to move forward came naturally,” says Helen Kim, Arcadia’s Vice President of Marketing. “The chair’s visual appeal stands on its own, but its compact storage capability makes it a truly high-performance, space-conscious solution.”
Functional details include an integrated cut-out notch on the backrest, intended for wall or door-mounted storage using an accompanying wood peg. Chairs can be nested or stacked in groups of three, or transported in quantities of ten with an accompanying dolly. For aesthetic versatility and even further comfort, an upholstered seat pad option is available, along with standard and custom wood finish selections to create a tailored look.
Such flexibility enables Stash to easily outfit a variety of environments—from corporate training rooms and hospitality settings to educational spaces and beyond. Always poised, always practical, Stash is designed to meet the moment—time and time again.
