Inspired by life itself, Erwan Bouroullec’s new Kobold for Ligne Roset resembles a small room, where everything is useful and has its place but can be reconfigured at a moment’s notice. The modular sofa is highly functional with a well-thought-out form that utilizes simple shapes, allowing a space to be created for a variety of uses right from the start. Different configurations provide seating, a bed, and storage, while horizontal surfaces serve as tables, and the wooden sides act as partitions, creating a bit of interior architecture. Kobold can be made compact to get the most out of a small space or expanded on a larger scale to become the focal point of a room. Choose between Kobold Soft (above), a slightly lower version with removable cushions, or Kobold Classic (below), which is firmer, a bit higher, and provides more support, resulting in a more structured seating area.
