Pushing the envelope in sustainable materials, 3form is proud to introduce Dual-Sided Textures, the next step forward for their multi-award-winning 100% Recycled Textures line. Building on the success of the 21 available single-sided offerings, the collection features four new Textures created by molding complementary patterns on both sides of the company’s 100% recycled translucent resin, putting design on the right side every time. Ideal for applications like partitions, where both sides of the material are visible, the Dual-Sided Textures create a captivating and tangible interaction of light and shadow.
Soho draws inspiration from the iconic glass blocks that rose to prominence in the 1930s and maintained popularity into the 1980s. Valencia reimagines a classic square motif with softened edges, offering a sleek, minimalist aesthetic. The clean lines and subtle repetition evoke mid-century modern design and provide impressive object obscurity. Taking cues from water's fluid and ever-changing nature, Monterey features a subtle, undulating pattern, with both sides of the resin working in tandem to produce a gentle diffusion of light. Sierra’s hammered-glass-like base pattern pays homage to 20th-century glasswork, while the large circles layered on top function as lenses, drawing into focus the depth and detail of the underlying design.
“These Dual-Sided Textures are a natural progression of our design philosophy, blending form and function to create materials that stand out,” said Ryan Smith, 3form’s Chief Creative Officer. “By innovating with patterns on both sides of the resin, we’re providing designers with exciting new ways to manipulate light and shadow to create visually engaging and immersive spaces.”
Like their single-sided counterparts, Dual-Sided Textures highlight 3form’s material capabilities, offering a modernized, more durable alternative to glass that is easier to tailor and fabricate on site. Developed to play with natural light and shadow, the four new Textures offer unique levels of light refraction and visual privacy in their clear forms. When paired with 3form’s vast color offerings, the Textures introduce a new perspective to a space, inspiring designers to incorporate them into diverse environments.
Crafting the innovative and alluring Dual-Sided Textures requires meticulous care and expertise. Each panel is produced using hand-finished molds, highlighting 3form's commitment to exceptional craftsmanship and dedication to manufacturing quality products. Dual-Sided Textures, like their single-sided predecessors, are made from 100% recycled content thanks to 3form’s investment in revolutionary molecular recycling technology. This material innovation is a cornerstone of the company’s Know New Plastic initiative, launched earlier this year, which aims to further increase the amount of recycled content in their products without compromising quality, providing architects and designers with sustainable and visually appealing design options.
Dual-Sided Textures are available in 3form’s standard panel sizes of 4’ x 8’ and 4’ x 10’ with ⅜” and ½” gauges, suited for all of 3form’s offered hardware.
