Carl Hansen & Son has relaunched Kaare Klint’s English Chair from 1931 which was originally presented at the Cabinetmakers’ Autumn Exhibition in Copenhagen. Klint was inspired by old English chairs from the 18th century and has masterfully used wood as a decorative element by incorporating it as a contrasting material, both on the chair legs and in the form of advanced intarsia on the armrests, backrest, and under the seat. The back, sides, and seat are made of French canework, and it takes a skillful weaver almost a week to complete just one chair.
