Encore’s latest launch, Outset, introduces a refined approach to occasional tables. Designed in collaboration with long-time partners Chris and Jon Panichella of Achella Design, the tables combine a durable round top with a steel geometric base, creating a lightweight and stylish solution for various applications including lobbies, lounges, collaborative areas and more.
“We drew inspiration from the idea of creating a series of tables that are distinct in their detailing yet universal in function and appeal,” says Chris Panichella, Principal Industrial Designer at Achella Design. “The word ‘Outset’ refers to the beginning of something, the start of an event or a journey. In our case, the journey begins with a seamlessly rolled, thin steel tube that loops around the perimeter of the table top and joins with a precisely bent steel leg. These legs approach each other, but never meet, creating a playful geometric tension that is sometimes elusive to the eye.”
Offered in 16” and 20” heights, the tables can be clustered together to create a more dynamic and visually engaging arrangement. The different heights allow them to overlap, introducing layers of surfaces that can be easily reconfigured for assorted uses. Whether arranged as a cohesive set or used individually, they offer flexibility, complementing a wide range of seating styles and environments.
Along those same lines, Outset is also available in a variety of finishes further ensuring a customizable fit every time. Table top options include wood veneer in Ash and Walnut, laminate, Fenix and solid surface. The base can be specified in either standard or premium metal colors and together, there is no combination that can’t be met.
“Its modern look, with a touch of sophistication and a go-anywhere nature is what drew us to this design,” says Helen Kim, VP of Marketing at Encore. “While it may be simple in form, Outset is anything but and has already proven to be versatile across markets as we had intended.”
