Laris, the latest introduction by Arcadia, captures the essence of a lounge chair with traditional design elements, but with a distinctly modern flair. Drawing inspiration from mid-century modern forms, it features a statement-making exposed wood frame and thoughtful details woven throughout the collection.
At once slender and generous in size, this balanced design enables Laris to provide ample comfort while maintaining a light, airy aesthetic. The liberally proportioned cushions also feature suspension support along with tailored stitching details for a refined touch.
In yet another exercise in contrast, the turned hardwood frame adds an element of softness to the structured cushions, while simultaneously providing visual interest by way of its unique shape, multilateral curves and intentional use of open space at every opportunity. The reclined back angle also speaks to these attributes, providing cushioning in all the right places and another touchpoint for detail at its intersection with the frame.
Equally functional as it is beautiful, Laris lends itself to a wide variety of applications including hospitality, commercial offices, co-working spaces and educational environments. An optional clean-out feature between the seat and back is also offered for maintenance ease, extending its usefulness to healthcare and other heavy-use environments.
“Craftsmanship is what we’ve always been known for at Arcadia and there’s no better example of that than Laris,” says Casey Journigan, Arcadia’s President. “The hardwood frame is really a show-stopper in and of itself, but the entire piece just came together in such an exceptional way that we can’t wait for people to experience it.”
Designed by longtime Arcadia collaborator David Dahl, Laris is abundantly versatile, delivering the comfort needed for collaborative work sessions, quiet moments alone or lounging with friends. Its universally appealing design language easily speaks to everyone, and does so with an understated, sophisticated grace.
