AIS introduced its newest seating product – the Chelsea Task Chair – at NeoCon. Welcoming visitors to the company’s showroom, on the tenth floor of The Mart, AIS encourages visitors to experience Chelsea first-hand and prepare to take orders starting on July 15.
The Chelsea task chair couples all day comfort with an eye-catching back design. With its intuitive adjustments, flexible lumbar support, simplified finishes and toolless quick-connect assembly, Chelsea ensures that users will be up to speed quickly. Designed by Justus Kolberg of Germany, the addition of Chelsea to the AIS task seating product line brings the number of available models to nine.
Brianne Devine, vice president of product management and design for AIS is looking forward to the launch. “The feedback we’re getting about the new Chelsea task chair has been very positive. Designers are especially pleased that we have an offering that makes a bold, modern statement as they work to create unique and highly functional spaces for their customers.”
ABOUT THE DESIGN
With a contemporary design perfect for a modern, open floorplan, its clean, fresh look features an eye-catching white on black pattern accentuated by a stylish white frame against a black mesh. This neutral, yet striking, color combination makes it the perfect choice for any office color scheme. The Chelsea task chair’s unique look comes from the adjustable lumbar support which is also an integral part of the design. The lumbar support slides within the frame back becoming part of the chair’s geometric-inspired motif. The slim profile syncho-tilt mechanism nearly disappears as it seamlessly integrates into the clean lines of Chelsea. The chair’s width-adjustable 3D arms, set on a white frame with contrasting black arm rests, completes the look from every angle.
Chair designer Justus Kolberg of Germany credits his design inspiration stating “I designed the chair with the aim of making a chair that appears light, fresh, young, and likeable. My goal was to create a product of innovative simplicity that shows how comfortable it is. The central element is the flexible lumbar support, which is almost completely covered by the back frame.”
WHY IT’S AN IDEAL SOLUTION – Simple. Beautiful. Comfortable. Users Can Have It All.
The Chelsea task chair couples all day comfort with an eye-catching back design, a combination that provides users with ergonomic-driven support and designers with a stylish option when specifying product. With its intuitive adjustments and flexible lumbar support, Chelsea ensures ease of use with easy-to-reach adjustment levers.
One of Chelsea’s standout features is its ability to blend in with any office environment. With its black-striped mesh back and black seat upholstery that organically ends in a waterfall edge, the Chelsea will match an endless variety of finishes and fabrics, seamlessly integrating into open floorplans, private offices, and meeting rooms. The white back frame and arms complete the look by accentuating the contrasting finishes and fabrics to create a bold statement, yet its simplified finishes coordinate with any aesthetic.
