Finnish personal workspace manufacturer Framery unveiled Framery One, a connected phone booth.
The company is billing the new product as a single-person workspace to be used for personal video conferences. Like all of these individual booths, Framery One provides lighting and ventilation along with acoustical attenuation.
What the company added with this iteration of the product is the ability to control lighting and ventilation with a touch screen that includes embedded software to run a connected reservation system called Framery Connect. The system, similar to Room Wizard from Steelcase, is available from several providers. The Framery Connect software doesn’t incorporate other rooms or spaces within a workspace, such as conference rooms, into their system.
Framery Connect, the actual software application, costs an additional $36 per month, per booth after a three month trial period.
“We have seen a huge increase in the need for video conference solutions and are expecting this to grow throughout 2021,” says Framery’s CEO and Founder, Samu Hällfors. “Organizations need soundproof and technologically-advanced workspaces for successful virtual collaboration. Our team recognized that the market was missing a future-forward pod that provides workers with a private, soundproof space to connect virtually with those not in the office while not disturbing those around them. Framery One is truly the first of its kind.”
The pod, which weighs over 700 lbs, also includes wireless charging, a power outlet, and a USB port.
