Founded in 1981 under the guiding principles of North Carolina furniture culture’s history of work and craft, Cabot Wrenn continues to chart new paths in defining the modern workplace that merges traditional and contemporary forms for a progressive relevant aesthetic. This is our legacy. This is our DNA.
Cabot Wrenn continues to explore, develop, and process products that are environmentally responsible. Our recycling program is aimed at protecting our environment by conserving energy and natural resources. We utilize non-toxic paints that are virtually free Of all Volatile Organic compound emissions as well As Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS), and are strictly regulated on the state And federal levels.
All Of Cabot Wrenn's wood comes from managed forests and does not impact the natural rain forests. We buy all our mahogany from one company, which is the largest landowner in South America. We are now on the second generation that was planted 30 years ago. They plant 2 to 3 trees for each one they cut down. Endangered species are never cut.
The corrugated paper we use is all recycled. We work with a local paper recycler who has set up containers at our plants. This has resulted In tons Of paper being diverted from the landfills. Cabot Wrenn's foams are produced using no fluorocarbons which are harmful to the ozone layer. Every scrap of foam that is generated is sent back to the supplier who in turn recycles the foam into packaging and floor underlayment products.
In the cold months, all wood scraps are burned In our high-efficiency boiler To heat our plant while Not exceeding EPA's clean air emissions. In warmer months, our wood scraps are sent to a recycler to grind up for landscaping mulch. Cabot Wrenn recycles all wood pallets. We return pallets to many suppliers for reuse. Others are accumulated and we reuse time after time. We also share pallets with other local manufacturers.
One Of our recycling programs eliminates waste by recycling all fabric remnants And leather off-fall. We are also fitted with electronic ballast lighting which light output is much higher and energy usage is less. Our employees share our commitment In protecting the environment by collecting and recycling aluminum cans.
Cabot Wrenn will continue our tireless effort toward reducing, recycling And reusing materials whenever and wherever possible.
