On Friday 20 December Andreu World presented the international online of a solidarity design created by Patricia Urquiola with the aim of raising funds for the people and communities affected by the recent climate catastrophe in Valencia, where Andreu World has its origins. It will be marketed through its international network so that the message of help can reach as far as possible, and the profits generated from the sale will go entirely to this cause. At the presentation of this initiative, the designer will be accompanied by journalist Anatxu Zabalbeascoa and Jesús Llinares, CEO of Andreu World.

“Its design is deeply inspired by the emotional and physical impact of this natural disaster, showing a deformed appearance, as if the stool had been hit by the force of the current and challenged by adversity. The interwoven texture evokes the resilient spirit of a community overcoming hardship,” explains Urquiola.

Solidarity, sustainability and social responsibility

Every time a natural disaster occurs anywhere, we should sit down and think a moment about whether there is a better way of doing things so that the world we live in can continue to be habitable. The consequences of the DANA storms in Valencia, where Andreu World has its roots, have been dramatic for a significant part of the local population. We must not forget this and it is in our hands to ensure that it does not happen again. We must consider that everything we do today will have consequences tomorrow and be aware that it is necessary to adopt sustainable practices if we want to have a future that is also sustainable.

Right now, there is the urgency to rebuild everything that nature has destroyed, being supportive is the first thing we must do, because that sustainability equally includes the social aspect. Patricia Urquiola’s stool is another way in which we can contribute to the reconstruction of nature.

“It is manufactured through 3D printing using a biological, biodegradable, and compostable material,” states Jesús Llinares, CEO of Andreu World.

Valencia Stool: A 100% Charitable Project

Valencia Stool is a 100% charitable initiative developed by Andreu World and Patricia Urquiola, undertaken pro bono and without any economic benefit for either party, for the purpose of serving the public good. All profits generated from the sale of this project will be entirely donated to the RENA100DO Project (Raising Again), a support initiative for those affected by the DANA, led by the CRE100DO Foundation, of which Andreu World is a member.

The RENA100DO Project aims to assist 100 companies, local businesses, and small enterprises in Valencia affected by the DANA, helping them recover and continue being an active part of the local economic fabric.

The CRE100DO Foundation brings together one hundred Spanish companies in an initiative driven by the Círculo de Empresarios, in collaboration with ICEX and the Fundación Innovación Bankinter. Its mission is to support the growth of Spanish medium-sized companies, recognizing them as a key driver of the national economy and as creators of qualified employment.
