Bring the Outside In with Cross Contour and Hexadecimal Planters by Arcadia

Arcadia has expanded its product line with two unique planter collections that redefine traditional shapes: Cross Contour and Hexadecimal. The first features a twist on typical square and rectangle forms, while the second boasts a hexagonal design that nests together like a puzzle. Created in collaboration with product designer Ramsey Madsen, these planters bring the transformative power of nature indoors through both decorative and purposeful means.

With a name befitting its spatial geometric shape, Cross Contour is comprised of interlocking aluminum panels that create a visually striking illusion of pieces passing through one another. Available in square and rectangle shapes, and in various sizes and heights, all models are offered in both standard and premium finishes to suit any aesthetic preference. Concealed adjustable glides ensure stability and adaptability across different settings, while its crisp lines and thin planes make it a versatile choice for indoor environments that span commercial, hospitality, education and healthcare markets.

Hexadecimal moves away from typical linear placements with its exaggerated hexagonal shape that allows for creating unique compositions. Available in three heights—16", 24", and 34"— it offers endless possibilities for nested groupings or zigzag combinations. Modern in design with a playful dimension, they bring a lively energy to interiors, offering new ways to configure planters in both structured and organic layouts.

"Biophilia continues to be a major influence in commercial spaces, including offices,” says Madsen. “The addition of nature and living plants can help reduce stress, improve cognitive function and boost performance and creativity. Our connection to nature and living things is innate to humans and bringing those influences into the office is a worthwhile, meaningful improvement."

Both Cross Contour and Hexadecimal planters are crafted to elevate interior spaces by offering a range of finish selections, from neutrals to bold and custom colors. In addition, all models include a shelf with a removable liner positioned one foot from the top to make easy work of filling with any greenery of choice. Whether used as end caps to workstations, positioned individually throughout a room, or grouped together to form a cohesive design element, they also have the ability to help define spaces for added functionality.

“Collaborating with Ramsey Madsen on these designs has been an exciting journey, as it aligns with our commitment to creating environments that foster connection, creativity, and well-being,” says Helen Kim, VP of Marketing at Arcadia. “The Cross Contour and Hexadecimal collections not only enhance interiors visually but also contribute to the overall mood by integrating natural elements in a way that feels both organic and intentional.”
