FilzFelt Launches Two Nature-Inspired Acoustic Wall Designs: Grain and Reeds
FilzFelt, a leader in sustainable acoustic products, introduces two nature-inspired wall designs, Grain and Reeds, available in over ninety colors of Wool Felt. Designed by Bernd Benninghoff, the designs draw inspiration from the foliage of the Canary Islands, creating a subtle effect of movement. The designs are easily installed and available in endless color combinations. The products are 100% biodegradable, compostable, and recyclable, meeting various environmental and sustainability standards.
Grain celebrates the intricate details seen in the leaves and bark of the flora indigenous to the Canary Islands. On the other hand, Reeds pays homage to the local plant life, mimicking the swaying of sturdy grasses. These designs not only aesthetically pleasing but also bring a sense of nature and organic quality to any setting they are placed in.
A key feature of these designs is their ease of installation with a direct-glue application. Additionally, the Grain and Reeds designs offer a variety of customization options. Customers can choose from one of ninety colors of pure wool felt, coupled with one of three shades of grey Akustika substrate. Alternatively, they can layer two colors of 100% Wool Design Felt, with the base color revealed through the undulating v-grooves.
The compositions of these designs are 100% Wool Design Felt, which is 100% biodegradable and compostable, and Akustika 10 substrate, which contains 60% post-consumer recycled content and is 100% recyclable. They are available in 95 colors and have a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of 0.50. In terms of environmental and sustainability standards, they comply with the Living Building Challenge Criteria, are Oeko-Tex© Standard 100 Certified Product Class II, meet VOC test limits for the CDPH v1.2 method, and are Prop 65 Compliant.
