This fall, Shaw Contract will launch a new line of broadloom and carpet tile designed specifically for the hospitality market: ROAM. The ROAM series of custom collections is reflective of the destinations where designer projects come to life.

The first selection from the series, ROAM | Painted Desert, features designs influenced by the desert landscape of the North American Southwest. It is exceptionally rich in color and texture with a variety of patterns, scales, and constructions to bring the feel of the desert landscape to life.

ROAM was designed by the Shaw Contract Hospitality design team in conjunction with custom designers from its StudioOne program. Typically, the design team from StudioOne is focused on designing for specific custom projects, but the two groups collaborated on a location focus for the collection and then developed artwork and mood boards around the concept of a hospitality setting and overall destination in the Southwest.

“ROAM highlights the StudioOne custom team's capabilities and how they can truly customize our offerings,” said Ashley Olson, Shaw Contract’s Design Director for Workplace and Hospitality Studio. “They work together with the designers to create something from scratch or customer inspiration; they love creating beautiful conceptual patterns.”

ROAM | Painted Desert is complete with 15 different patterns in a mixture of constructions including CYP, Tailor Tuft, and Colorpoint for broadloom and carpet tile. All patterns can be customized and used together in a range of spaces such as corridors, public spaces, and guest rooms. Additional colorways are available and can be seen on Shaw Contract’s Foundry digital tool, which allows customers to see patterns in different spaces online and then play with colors to create designs for individual projects.

“Inspired by landscape, architecture, culture, and community, each ROAM destination imagines a unique perspective that captures the essence of the places we roam,” noted Carey Stevens, Shaw Contract’s director of marketing for Hospitality + Multifamily.

ROAM | Painted Desert will debut at BDNY, November 12 and 13 at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York.
