Fluted HUG Pods Provide a Cozy Nook in Open Workspaces

Privacy pods and acoustic screens have become necessary in offices with open floor plans but often lack a certain sensibility. While they’re designed to be comfortable and private, they are typically made for contracted spaces and don’t look very warm or inviting. Enter, the HUG Pod collection, a human-centric concept designed by Dymitr Malcew that blurs the line between cozy residential interiors and performance-oriented workplace environments.

The HUG pods are modular in design, allowing for maximum flexibility in a post-pandemic world that’s apt to change at a moment’s notice. Made for both collaboration and heads-down work but designed to create a sense of belonging and support mental wellness, the soft, thick fluted walls of the pods gently “hug” their users in. The built-out nook offers acoustic privacy and absorbs sound from the surrounding environment at the same time. While the HUG pods are designed for the workplace, its velvety fabrics and neutral colorways provide a tactile and sensorial experience akin to residential and hospitality spaces.
