Coalesse Expands Marien152: Inspired by Home, Designed for the Workday
Coalesse is excited to announce two new additions to the richly tailored Marien152 family: The Marien152 Lounge and Marien152 Stool. A global seating collection designed in collaboration between the Coalesse Design Group and internationally renowned designer Arik Levy, Marien152 offers an important blend of thoughtful comfort and unexpected support. Joining the previously released guest and conference chairs, the new lounge and stool seating extend the collection’s flexibility to accommodate a wider range of postures and applications throughout the workday.
The Marien152 Lounge chair translates the soft, generous angles of the collection through carefully considered proportions and the signature cushioned backrest into a relaxed and inviting seating experience. Perfect for accommodating visitors or enhancing comfort for team members, the Marien152 Lounge is ideally suited to waiting areas, ancillary spaces, lounges and enclaves—or anywhere ease and focus are desired. Available in a variety of upholstery choices and with a wood or 4-star swivel base, it combines a surprising level of support with a warm, comforting feel while carrying Marien152’s style throughout the space plan. The Marien152 Stool brings the family to new heights, featuring a lower version of the distinctive cushioned backrest and a gently geometric form, resulting in unexpected comfort. Wood or metal base options convey varying aesthetic styles with consistently strong design character. The new stool is available in bar- or counter-height options, allowing for the widest possible range of applications and empowering designers to offer cohesive and creative settings. These new additions enhance the existing seating collection to anchor nearly all applications of the workday. Throughout the entire Marien152 Collection, considerate comfort is the foundation of a modern residential expression. Constructed with superior craftsmanship and attention to detail, each piece invites personalization through finishes and upholstery options, while a selection of warm wood and metal frame bases adds a choice of structure for different work modes and design settings.
An artist, technician, photographer, designer and video artist, Arik Levy’s skills are multi-disciplinary, and his works are shown and installed worldwide. Best known for his sculptures, installations and limited editions, Levy has designed everything from jewelry to office systems out of his Paris-based studio, including the Pattern Collection of outdoor furniture for longstanding Coalesse partner EMU. Says Levy, “With Marien152, we sought to design a seating collection that required no additional elements or adjustments to fit any and everyone in the workplace. With the addition of the lounge and stool designs, not only can Marien152 support any worker, but the collection also now supports many postures and applications throughout the workday.”
Remarks John Hamilton, Director of Global Design for Coalesse, “Levy’s understanding of the workplace and the settings that will benefit from the Marien152 seating has resulted in one of the most versatile seating series we offer, especially considering that the aesthetic is so uniquely contemporary and classic. Now enriched with even more options, I am confident that Marien152 will establish itself as one of our most beloved collections to date.”
Whether in guest, conference, lounge or stool configuration, any selection from the Marien152 family represents a chair of choice, a customizable solution to make sitting truly comfortable in diverse work settings.
