Key features
Imagining an agile workplace where employees could engage with a variety of different spaces to accommodate individual and collaborative tasks, consultancy firm Accenture enlisted design studio HOK to bring this vision to fruition. Located on the top nine floors of the 67-storey One Manhattan West Tower in Hudson Yards, the 28,000-sq-m office is the main workplace of 5,000 of Accenture’s New York City employees.
Agility was one of the central tenets of the project briefing – the office is split into different ‘neighbourhoods’. Spaces include a team formation area, ‘hives’ displaying current Accenture initiatives, a client briefing room which also doubles as a yoga studio, a fully equipped broadcast studio, a VR lab and innovation hubs. Workout areas, comfortable break areas and spaces for meditation or prayer are interspersed throughout to promote wellbeing. One level, dubbed the ‘Central Park floor’ has biophilic elements with plenty of greenery, ample natural lights and natural wooden flooring.
